pekojan adalah perkampungan para pedagang muslim yang ada di tepi pantai, bandar atau pelabuhan. Menurut KBBI, Pekojan adalah kampung yang pada awalnya ditempati atas orang Koja dari India Selatan, tetapi kemudian dikenal sebagai kampung orang Arab.
