Wujud hantu merupakan manifestasi dari imajinasi manusia. Atau mungkin bisa lebih logis adalah, hantu merupakan perwujudan energi yang bisa menyerap energi kita. Sehingga apabila kita merasa takut sesuatu maka yang muncul adalah bentuk itu. Inilah yang membuat para bule tidak pernah melihat pocong karena mereka sebelumnya tidak tahu bentuk itu.
Wujud hantu juga berasal dari kebiasaan/kebudayaan masing-masing tempat/negara. Contohnya pocong.
